Asus’ Bezel Free Kit uses an optical illusion to make bezels vanish

Spread the love

Using prisms, this clever kit can make your three monitors seem like a single panel.

why are you defending it when you have obvious criticisms? It's a blurry mess and you can see the prisms. A smart ideas is to make more ultra wides. This is a gimmick, which im pretty sure one of you was thinking.

That would totally work for my sim racing setup! I would buy a set today, great job to the inventor!?

    More over priced gimmicks.
It can't be that hard to make the left and right bezels removable for people with multi monitor setups.
Or just make more ultra wides.

Needs work, but i like it! plus it sounds cheap to implement, so definitely worth a try for folks with surround.

How does this actually fill the missing graphic portion in the bezel area?

Looks pretty nice, just ignore the idiots in here whining. that single line doesn't seem as intrusive as two actual bezel sides.

As somebody who runs a triple monitor setup, I can tell you that this is going to be awful. When you use bezel correction, there are pixels rendered that are where the bezels are. This will eliminate that. Have you ever seen a comparison of gaming with and without bezel correction? It's awful without. This won't fill the bezels with the pixels that are supposed to be there.

Gordon, I think you misspoke. The Bezel kit is neat but you said those three monitors with the kit would get a higher frame rate than a single 49" display that is equal to dual 1080P monitors? There is no way it is getting a "higher" frame rate out of that solution. You are getting a higher refresh rate for sure but at the expense of running with a TN panel vs a VA display. Also at current pricing two of the monitors in question cost more than the single Samsung monitor you mentioned. This means the 3rd monitor with the Bezel kit will definitely throw the price up.

I think it is a neat idea but would offer it's biggest advanatge in my opinion with lower cost mointors and allow a lower cost large screen display.

they should work on taking off the sides (clip on/off side bars) to make monitors REALLY bezelless. shouldn't be that big of a problem tbh.

I would buy this but dual monitors at that angle would look weird

Looks cool but the angle is way too sharp for my taste
