Wireless VR is here (almost) thanks to Intel’s WiGig technology | E3 2017

Spread the love

Hayden is the first to try the new WiGig technology prototype from Intel. It’s super impressive tech and will supposedly launch sometime in the next twelve months. HTC Vive 2 anyone??

I seem to be waiting for something revolutionary to happen with VR before I spend any of my money on the hardware. I feel like it's so early I could end up buying something that will become obsolete in months. That's not necessarily why I haven't bought in yet, I just feel like it's missing something. I can't even really put my finger on it. I watch people use the VR gear and they're clearly having fun. Though, I just know where the possibilities are, and how far away we are yet.

Looks far worse than the TPCast. Where did the TPCast go? It was so well made and worked perfectly! Did intel buy them and shit out some half-ass product?
Starting to hate intel more and more these days.

the rift has a swap-able cable, it just is a proprietary cable so you'd need a specific new short cable for connecting it to this.

I have a vary vary bad experience with the software side of DisplayLink products, I hope for the best in this case though.

It's a pci card, but I have a gaming laptop. Does that exclude laptop gamers?

They should make one you can put in your pocket or wear as an armband so that it doesn't obstruct the lighthouse sensors, cuts down on head weight, and so that instead of getting brain cancer you just get arm/thigh cancer.
