It's funny. I have been reading a bit about DACs and their use in audio lately so I decided to pick up a Sound Blaster Audigy 5 card and, wow! It really does make a difference with both my surround sound and headphones (built in DAC amp). Bass is much more pronounced and it just 'feels' cleaner. Definitely will be keeping it for my next build.

So what is a good audio setup nowadays and what games take advantage of the hardware? I didn't fit a sound card in my last build thinking it wouldn't benefit me. Was I wrong, will I notice the difference?
